Flash implementation devalues website – It is true that a content rich page is more preferred as compared to that of a flash page but it doesn’t mean that a flash is devalues your website. It is advisable to avoid writing important content in flash presentations as it will not be picked up by the search engine crawlers. Using flash makes website more lively and attractive.

Using Robots.txt file to hide pages from web spiders – Using disallow tag will not stop incoming links to get web spiders to your hidden page. If you want that web spiders do not crawl through your web pages then the best way is to protect them with a secured password or not to link them with a website. Using Robots.txt file technique works but not always.

Site map is must - It is true that a site map help search engines to crawl your site better. However, if your site is built in such a way that it is crawler friendly then there is no point in worrying about the ranking. Though sitemap is helpful in navigation but its absence does not cause any harm to a website.

Regular Updation of a website – Frequent updation attracts web spiders for indexation and it increases more visibility. However, it does not increase page ranking. It is advisable not to update site if it is not required. Web spiders like relevant updation not just any updation.

SEO gives instant results – Search engine optimization is a continuous process and it requires sincere efforts, results may not be seen in initial months. However, with the passage of time and dedicated efforts SEO returns good results.
